The seventeen color drawings in the series, A Tree of Life, began as straightforward documentations of the yearly growth cycle of a large fig tree in my Seattle backyard. As the series progressed, a deeper level of its story became visible. A few years after the drawings were complete, I discovered the symbolism of the Tree of Life and realized that, like other artists throughout the world, I had spontaneously created one more version of a very old story.

These drawings are now available in book form, designed by Ed Marquand and John Hubbard of Marquand Books, Seattle. You will soon be able to purchase the "trade" book directly from this website and at Seattle area bookstores. A hand-bound, archival version (in an edition of twenty-five only), will also be available from this website, by special order.
