The forty-eight color drawings in the series, From Seed to Universe, were inspired by the small galaxy pattern shown on the horse chestnut seed detail at left. These drawings combine the imagery of the Tree of Life with the circular design undercurrent of the Mandala, an Eastern meditation diagram that represents wholeness.

Based on the seasonal life cycle of a horse chestnut tree (native to northern Greece), each drawing grows out of the one preceding it. As a collection, the drawings follow life’s creative process as it spirals through invisible and visible dimensions of growth.
